iPhone SE (2nd generation), iOS 18.1.1, Yata 4.0.7, 28GB free, I have the same issue. It happens regardless of:
- Type (capture/action)
- Parent (inbox/list/project)
- State (in creation screen / already created and in edition screen)
- File source (gallery/iCloud/storage)
- Probably file type (json, MP4, PNG, vcf, pdf and txt all had the same issue)
The Attachments button shows 0 attachments. When I tap it, I'm taken to the attachments screen, devoid of any attachments. I can add as many attachments as I want at this stage, and everything will seem normal, up until I go back to the editing screen to save or keep modifying my action/capture. If I look at the Attachments button again, it says 0. I'm now back to the start of this paragraph.
If I add image A as an attachment, exit the attachments screen, go back to an empty screen, and add images B and C, I'll see images B and C (but not A) as long as I don't change screens. As soon as I exit the attachments screen again, images B and C are lost forever just like A.
If I save my action/capture, it looks just like any other item without an attachment. The Attachments button will still say 0, the screen will still be empty whenever I open it, and attachments will still behave the way I've described. There's no difference between an action/capture I never tried attaching anything to and one I tried (and failed) a thousand times.

Saah This is exactly the issue I'm facing.

Jeff , Mia Huang, Saah: Thank you for the detailed report! It seems that the reason I was unable to reproduce the bug is because I swiped right to exit the attachments screen. In this case, the attachments will work as expected. This is extremely strange, but I should have a fix out in the next day or two!

Mia Huang , Jeff: Could you confirm that storage space is not an issue on your iPhones? If not, can you try updating to v4.0.7 and see if that resolves the issue?
Mia Huang
Brandon Thio My phone still has half of its storage left, so it should be fine. I've updated to v4.0.7, but the problem remains. However, it's working properly on my iPad.

Same here. iOS 18.01 on iPhone 11
App doesn’t crash. Photo attachment just doesn’t show up after you add it and go back to the task edit screen and press save.

Mia Huang: What device and OS version are you using? Can you elaborate more on what you mean by "cannot add attachments", is the app crashing when you add them?
Mia Huang
Brandon Thio my experience is the same as Jeff, and I'm using iPhone 15 Pro(iOS 18.1)
Interestingly, I noticed that files can be successfully attached on YATA Mac app(and I can see it on YATA app in my iPhone ; however, it just doesn't work when I try to use this adding attachment function on my iPhone...
